ABSN Clinical Rotations at Local Healthcare Facilities
Madonna University’s clinical rotations with our academic practice partners, such as Henry Ford Health, provide ABSN students an edge in their nursing education by allowing them to gain real-world clinical experience.

Hybrid ABSN students will learn first-hand what it takes to be an exceptional nurse by working with the best nursing professionals in the state. Over the ABSN program’s 16 months, you will complete your accelerated nursing clinicals through Henry Ford Health or another clinical partner, working with patients in a variety of specialties:
- Medical-surgical nursing: cares for adults of all ages in various settings.
- Mental health: this specialty focuses on emotional, psychological, and social well-being.
- Maternity (OB): focuses on childbearing women and their families.
- Pediatrics: cares for children, birth to early adulthood, and their families.
Your first clinical experience, Holistic Care of Adults (Adult Medical Surgical), will begin toward the end of the first semester. Other clinical rotations you will experience throughout the hybrid ABSN program include medical-surgical, community health, and population.

Real-World Preparation
Your accelerated nursing clinicals will require you to do much more than observe. You will put much of the curriculum you have completed through our blended learning model into real-world practice.
As you perform your clinical rotations, you will experience firsthand the spirit of caring as nursing faculty helps you develop the following skills:
- Community-based advocacy for population health
- Genuine caring behavior
- Communication skills
- Performance of safe therapeutic interventions
- Ethical perspectives
Learning these essential nursing skills and successfully applying them during clinicals is an important step toward graduation and your future as a registered nurse. Since students spend so much time completing clinical rotations through the university and other clinical partners, it’s important to consider this experience as a 16-month job interview. You will work with the same staff throughout the program to build relationships and network for your post-graduation nursing future.
Clinical Partnerships
In addition to Madonna University’s accredited curriculum and knowledgeable faculty, one of our academic practice partners, Henry Ford Health, will give you a deeper understanding of nursing. One of Michigan’s largest employers, Henry Ford Health provides a full continuum of services, from primary and preventive care to complex and specialty care.
