University and Nursing School Accreditation and State Approval

These nursing school accreditations ensure your accelerated nursing education meets strict standards and qualifies you to sit for the NCLEX-RN® exam.

University Accreditation

Madonna University is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC), located at 230 South LaSalle Street, Suite 7-500, Chicago, IL 60604, (800) 621-7440. Founded in 1895, the HLC is an independent corporation that ensures the quality and advancement of learning at colleges and universities located in the North Central region of the United States.

Madonna University College of Nursing and Health’s upcoming accreditation visit by the Commission of Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) is scheduled for Oct. 15-17, 2025. Please note that in the CCNE accreditation process, there is an opportunity for program constituents to submit, in writing, comments concerning a program’s qualifications for accreditation status. Third-party comments will be received by CCNE until Sept. 24, 2025. All comments can be directed to [email protected].

Note that CCNE shares the third-party comments with the evaluation team prior to the onsite evaluation, but at no time during the interview process are these comments shared with the program, the Accreditation Review Committee, or the CCNE board. During the review of the program, the evaluation team considers third-party comments, if any, that relate to the accreditation standards.

Nursing School Accreditation

The Baccalaureate degree in Nursing/Master of Science in Nursing/Doctor of Nursing Practice and post-graduate APRN certificate programs at Madonna University are accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), located at 655 K Street, NW, Suite 750, Washington, DC 20001, (202) 887-6791. CCNE is a national accreditation agency dedicated to improving public health through confirmation of the effectiveness of baccalaureate — and graduate-level nursing programs.

State Approval

The nursing program at Madonna University is approved by the Michigan Board of Nursing, located at the Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs, Bureau of Professional Licensing, 611 W. Ottawa, Lansing, MI 48933, (517) 373-8068.
